As for compromising, Briggs discovered something. Rubbing himself, even if a bit on the painful side, relieves the withdrawal like symptoms. At least he stopped shivering. He re-positioned himself on the bed so the camera doesn't see anything he's doing.
Meanwhile, their captor shows no signs of replying. But the gas does seem to stop.
