Stepping back from yet another attempt to attack the door, Mike didn't look at Briggs. In fact, the only sign that he'd even heard the question was a new tension across his back. The way he kept his face turned completely away. Briggs couldn't know. Period. They needed to get him out of there before he could find out.

"Just...kill me, alright?" Mike's tone was quiet but strained. "If one of us gives him what he wants, in some way...maybe he'll open the door. Then you can get out. He'll bring me back." That much he knew. Their captor wasn't going to let him off the hook with something as simple as death at the hands of a man he once trusted.
